ADHD (Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder) is a very common mental disorders affecting children and often lasts into adulthood. As many as 2 out of every 3 children with ADHD continue to have symptoms as adults. ADHD includes a combination of persistent problems, such as impulsive behavior, difficulty sustaining attention and hyperactivity.
ADHD is more common in boys, whose hyperactive and impulsive behavior may appear as disruptive. In girls, Inattentiveness could be an indication of ADHD, but because they aren’t disruptive, they may be harder to diagnose. ADHD affects millions of children.
The exact cause of ADHD is not clear. Factors that may be involved, ADHD include the environment, genetics or problems with the central nervous system.
